Updates from the Membership




Kelsey Thompson (Associate Director, CPDC, IUP) became Mrs. Pilotta when she married Dr. Marco Pilotta on November 20, 2024. They had a fairytale wedding at Heinz Chapel and a dream celebratory reception at PPG Winter Garden, followed by an enjoyable and relaxing honeymoon in St. Lucia!

The PennACE Conference isn't the only exciting event happening this May! Jesse DeFazio (Associate Director of Career Education & Development, Slippery Rock University) and his wife are expecting their first child May 2025. Jesse shared, "She's going to officially be the youngest person ever with a resume! Or at least, that's what I'm telling people!"

IUP was excited to welcome new team members over the past academic year. Please join them in welcoming (pictured left to right) Celia Barber, Administrative Assistant, Kevin Berezansky, Associate Director, Kristen O'Hara, Director of Workforce Development, and Jeremy Risinger, Assistant Director of Academic and Career Success.



Chatham University's Office of Career Development is excited to welcome Grace Conde to the position of Assistant Director of Experiential Learning. Grace is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds proficiency in both French and Russian. She previously served the Office of Career Development as the Student Employment Assistant. We are excited to see what Grace will achieve in her new role!

PennACE member and 2024 PennACE Excellence Award winner, Paul Miller, earned his Doctor of Philosophy - PhD at Indiana University of Pennsylvania this past semester. He completed the Communications Media and Instructional Technology Ph.D. program in December. Miller’s dissertation is entitled “Cinematic Celebrations.” His research focused on how families use Christmas movies as part of their annual traditions around the holiday season. If you want to learn more about this interesting research, tune in to this Knightly News Media podcast beginning at the 22:25 minute mark to hear Dr. Miller being interviewed by one of his Central Penn College students. Congratulations, Dr. Miller!
