President's Message - Fall 2022

Greetings PennACE members! I hope you all had a wonderful summer! It is hard to believe it is over, and we are all knee deep into the fall semester. As the beautiful fall colors are beginning to appear, I hope you can get out and enjoy what Pennsylvania has to offer before the leaves drop and the flakes start to fly!

Let’s rewind back to summer for a minute. The slower pace of the summer allowed several members to take advantage of the virtual employer visits that our Professional Development and Employer Engagement team set up. Phyllis Schoen and Lauren Fagan did a fantastic job, working with their committee, to identify employers and provide member connections while getting a more detailed look at their hiring process. A huge thank you for their efforts and offering great opportunities for our members.

We are pleased to announce our PennACE website has been updated with a new look and a new provider. This exciting change is thanks to Jenelle Henry, Communication Chair, Chad Ganley, Membership Chair and Heather Balas, Treasurer. They worked swiftly to find a cost-effective solution that serves as our canvas and the centerpiece for our members. Please be patient as the team works to transfer all information from the old site to our new site!

What’s next? We continue to be committed to offering relevant programming at the conference as well as professional development opportunities while maintaining affordability. The Executive Board continues to make efforts to ensure PennACE is a valuable resource for our members. We are exploring new membership options to better align with staffing levels while keeping costs minimal. Please stay tuned for more professional development opportunities as well as the annual conference details! Be sure to Save the Date for our 21 st annual PennACE Conference – May 23-25, 2023, State College, PA. We are planning to celebrate 20 years of PennACE!!

I am excited about more in-person opportunities for meaningful engagement to return this year and I hope you can join us!!

Wishing you all a successful academic year!! Krissie Doppelheuer PennACE President
