Message from the President
Happy February, PennACE! I hope everyone is staying warm this winter!
I want to offer a quick thank you to everyone who completed our PennACE Member Engagement Survey. The Executive Board has been enjoying reading your responses to learn what you feel PennACE is doing well and where we could make some improvements. You told us that you value the networking, professional development, and conference that PennACE provides. You recommended that we work on increasing membership size (especially in terms of adding employer members), improving our online presence, and making PennACE more of a year-round organization. Overall, your responses reinforced the idea that PennACE is a valuable and welcoming space for collaboration, camaraderie, and idea sharing between members. So, we want to thank you for being a part of this awesome and supportive community.
Taking your feedback into account, the Executive Board recently finalized and voted to approve our new strategic plan. This document will guide the Board’s actions and initiatives for PennACE over the next three years. In the spirit of transparency, the strategic plan will be emailed out to membership within the next couple of days so that you all can see what we’re up to!
What’s next? We will continue to develop new strategies to recruit prospective members and highlight the benefits of PennACE membership, offer intentional professional development programming, and host another vibrant conference.
If you are looking for more ways to get involved in PennACE or have questions about the organization, please reach out to me or another member of the Executive Board. Also, stay tuned for Executive Board officer nominations opening up later this month. There are multiple positions up for grabs! Joining the board is a great opportunity for a new professional to take on a leadership role within a very supportive group or for a seasoned professional to give back to the community. Please consider nominating yourself or someone else who would be a great fit.
I can’t wait to (re)connect with many of you at Toftrees in May!
Sincerely,
Sarah Kordish Associate Director for Career Development Mount Aloysius College
