President's Message

Hello PennACE members! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and start to the fall semester! It is hard to believe we are halfway to winter break! Let’s not rush the snow and chill too quickly though! I hope you have taken time to enjoy the beauty Pennsylvania offers this time of year, and the abundant number of festive activities both on your campuses and in your communities.

Let’s rewind back to summer for a minute. We kicked off the warmer months by enjoying each other’s company at Toftrees Resort for our annual PennACE Conference. How fast did those 20 years go by? Moving into the summer, Phyllis Schoen and George Carter did a fantastic job, working with their committee, to identify employers and provide member connections while getting a more detailed look at their hiring process. A huge thank you for their efforts and offering great opportunities for our members. They were able to secure 23 Virtual Employer Visits this summer and have worked hard at setting dates for events throughout the remainder of the current term. I look forward to reconnecting with many of you at these in-person or virtual events this year and continuing to meet new members. I hope many of you can join us!

What’s next for PennACE? I don’t know about you, but I smell chocolate in the air…. We are actively planning what is sure to be one sweet week in Hershey, PA for our conference this year. Save the date for May 21-23 at the Hershey Lodge! In addition, led by Heather Balas, we have started work researching and creating resources for our members to access and receive certification in several areas. We are still accepting committee members, please reach out to Heather Balas if interested!
